About Manhattan Review GMAT

Dr. Joern Meissner, a tenured business school professor, began his concept of the Manhattan Review GMAT back in 1999. He has supervised and overseen all of the programs since its inception. Meissner believes that prep programs created and presented by professionals that hold an MBA are not as valuable as his company, led by Meissner who has actually taught in an MBA environment. This distinction gives him a better perspective within the learning process.
Not to say that Dr. Meissner steers the Manhattan Review ship on his own. He has a crew of highly qualified, instructors who have gone through a rigorous selection process to become a part of the team. The Manhattan program focuses on enabling students to concentrate more on pure content and education, rather than tricks and shortcuts.
Basics
The format for the Manhattan Review GMAT prep classes is rigorous, whether online or in a classroom setting, and some classes require a set amount of personal tutoring. Although they are similar to most of the competition when it comes to material, curriculum and content, but they are set to a specific course schedule.
Manhattan Review’s courses all offer a choice between in-person or online formats, a number of selected teaching hours with different durations of total instruction time and content. Ultimately, the plans are individualized to meet a student’s particular needs. GMAT BONUS: Weekend or “Boot Camp” options are available for those last minute crammers.

Manhattan Review did a fantastic job of prepping me for the GMAT. If you don’t keep up with the homework, you won’t get as much out of it (if anything at all). The course expects you to keep up, and if you don’t, you’ll likely end up confused and wasting your time.
The prep materials are also extensive enough that they provide ample material to study on your own after the course, should you choose to do more independent work before taking the test.

First, don't wait to get started until you finish the GMAT. Oftentimes people don't hit the scores they want to, and it pushes their whole timeline back, because they wanted to wait on starting their essays until the test is over. In this scenario, I highly recommend structuring your time to make room for both.
Secondly, be authentic. This is the most cliche advice out there, but it's also so hard to achieve when you're reading example essays and trying to navigate what the admissions team wants to hear. And lastly, build in time so that you have time to review your essays...often time your ability to edit directly after writing is highly impaired.

I think I found the quant section more difficult (and thus more valuable) but the verbal was also very strong. I recommend Manhattan to everyone–but I would do so after you’ve studied the original gmat prep books and material, since it can feel like a quick ramp up in material.

i would highly recommend the manhattan prep books. the lessons are very clear and methodical. i started off with a gmat score of 640 and after using the manhattan prep books (in conjunction with the official guides), I was able to achieve 710. the questions provided in manhattan tend to be a bit harder than the official ones which is good because it really tests you on your foundational knowledge and techniques. i would recommend to use an error log along side the manhattan guide. this way, you would be able to identify and focus on your weak areas. i can’t say good enough about manhattan!

Manhattan Prep book were very valuable to learn the basics of the examen and to increase the proficiency in the areas where I needed additional review.
I first took a complete Mgmat examen to assess the level of performance in the different areas of the examen. I later reviewed all mGmat books and did all the exercises available at the books. I later did an iterative process of taking a mgmat exam, review it in detail and expend time getting stronger in the areas that I performed the worst. exams available which were invaluable in getting me up to speed with the exam.
Thanks to manhattan I was able to achieve the score that I was aiming. I definitely recommend manhattan prep course as the guide of choice to get up to speed to the gmat exam.

I struggled to beat 640 on my GMAT (after 6 months of studying). Then I found Manhattan GMAT and was able to achieve 710. My only drawback is that the course is a bit introductory for someone who has already studied extensively for it. However, it taught me techniques that helped me get to the next level, which is to achieve greater than 700. Highly recommend this course.

The Manhattan Review is a great resource to prepare for GMAT even if you think you’re confidant about appearing for the exam. The material allows you to refresh the concepts involved and practice them in the format in which GMAT will test you. To make it slightly more affordable you can use their $100 student referral option and use their free vocabulary guide available online. IF you believe you have your basics covered you can quickly read through the chapters and start with the practice questions and come back to easier questions in case you don’t perform well with the tougher one.

The Manhattan GMAT program is really helpful in preparing MBA candidates for the exam. There is a lot of practice exam questions to gain mastery of the verbal and quantitative sections of the GMAT. I did the in-class version and during class sessions, we had in-class problems that kept me on my toes and helped me stay on track so that I don’t fall behind with all of the material. My instructor was very engaging and made class sessions very fun. Manhattan GMAT really wants you to do well and gives you all of the tools to succeed. It’s expensive but worth the investment!

While I ended up not participating in the online class video sessions, the self-study books helped a lot in formulating test strategy. The test itself was very expensive so the last thing I wanted to do was pay for expensive prep sessions, tutoring or other offerings (though, I know many people to whom those have been valuable). I toughed it out by getting Manhattan GMAT preparation book but I found it to be enormously helpful. I would read through each section on my own, trace through the practice problems and either attempt the end of chapter questions or follow the solution explanation to understand how to tackle the problem. It is great for providing helpful tools and hints to “unlock” solutions — even if you aren’t sure of an answer, It gives you strategies to figure out what it might be, helping you have the greatest shot at success. I used the free practice tests online as well as the CD/software that came with the book. Learning the material in different ways helped to reinforce the concepts and ultimately, the information stuck with me! I recommend Manhattan. They’ve really refined their processes and want students to do well. Helps student score above 700. Very comprehensive material and slightly harder than actual GMAT exam

Of the various test books I used to prepare for the GMAT, I found the Manhattan materials the most difficult and best for preparing. I also found the sample tests to be much harder than the GMAT itself. I appreciated this, as the additional prep helped calm my nerves on the day of the GMAT exam itself. I completed the ten week in-person class and had a really positive experience. The books are well written and comprehensive. Having weekly homework sounds annoying but for a procrastinator such as myself, it was very helpful for staying on track with my preparation and making sure I was studying all different question types. My teacher was great about responding to email. After the test, you get a 30 minute consultation if the test didn’t go as well as you hoped so that you can readjust your studying strategy for next time.
