Jennifer and the Veritas Prep team were with me every step of the way in my MBA application and GMAT prep adventure. She gave me a clear roadmap and achievable milestones so that I could effectively manage my personal/professional life while dedicating the appropriate time to my application. She asked thoughtful questions and connected the dots that I did not see in my profile – I felt by the end of it, I was telling MY story. With her insight and advice, I was able to apply and accepted to multiple M7 schools (even though my GMAT and GPA were below the school’s average)! I truly could not have gotten here without the entire team. Thank you!

Veritas Prep provided an amazing Admissions Counselor, who guided me through the application process. As a younger candidate with a 700 GMAT, I needed to craft a compelling ‘why?’ Veritas prep was essential in helping me create a comprehensive story, which ultimately led to my acceptance into 2 of the top 10 schools + significant scholarship. Highly recommend!

Great resource to have at hand for preparing for not just the GMAT but also for a career in consulting. The GMAT test prep requires focused practice and Veritas does a great job of providing the right resources. They offered diagnostic services to understand your present capabilities so that you can choose that right area of skill set development. They also provide multiple practice questions so that you can constantly improve. It’s also a great place to connect with other applicants and seek their advice, network and build a strategy for the process. I was also happy admissions consulting service!
MBA Program & Grad Year:

Your MBA Application & School Advice:
Take time to plan out what your story is and build up on it. Network with the schools- the alumni, current students, clubs. Take help of the right admissions consultants and follow their advice. Understand not just the value that the school will provide to your career but also what your value add to that institution will be.
Mike – :
I used Veritas for Admissions consulting and found the services to be adequate but overpriced. The company’s use of specialists that are intimately familiar with each school was helpful in preparing for interviews and writing essays. My personal advisor was knowledgable but, again, her advice wasn’t worth the cost of services.

The GMAT test prep from Veritas prep was very helpful. They provided the most challenging math prep questions that I could find and provided helpful, insightful breakdowns of the problems. Their flexibility was great in that I could take any type of quiz (math only, reading only, or mixed) and could take any number of problems that I had time for. I used also used them to help me with my admissions applications and found them to be a great resource.

I had the option of an all inclusive package for reviewing my fit for schools, essays, how to approach recommenders, and overall application, but originally balked at the $1000 price tag. Little did I know this was actually an amazing deal since all the other online packages I found were by the hour and very expensive.
I also originally thought my Veritas person would be a former ad com member. I instead worked with a former MBA student who had helped with admissions, which was not the same as a former ad com member. I was eventually able to work with a former ad com member, but this wasn’t the best experience.

I found Veritas Prep to be exceptionally helpful as I prepared and took the GMAT exam (I took it twice and was extremely happy with my second score). While I was originally on the fence about paying for an expensive course given my strong math background, very quickly I found the course extremely worth the money. Not only did it teach me better tricks to do the math/English I already knew in a more efficient way, but it also taught me how to do those problems through the lens of a strong GMAT test strategy. The strategy they teach was essential, and I believe the critical reason I was able to achieve a strong GMAT score. Additionally, the teachers are super attentive & responsive, and I also appreciate the additional resources they offered me around MBA applications – they went way beyond just GMAT prep, and I welcomed that helpful advice.

Have a clear and exact story before starting your application -- and make the application reflect all aspects of that story through and through. It will paint a cohesive and authentic story about why you want to attend business school.

It was helpful in keeping me on track for my review sessions and forcing me to get the prep work done. It was also very helpful in finding ways to quickly get answers to complicated math questions and to also figure out how to do the questions that seemed complex much faster. It was more helpful for me on the math than the reading but that is where I needed the most help.

Have your essays read by a few very trusted advisors and get them done as early as possible. Make sure it is true to who you are and you spend time flushing this out!

Excellent way to prep for the GMAT. I think going through the course more than once would be more beneficial because there are a few skills that aren’t easily transferable to the actual test with only one practice/review.

I don't know how many people I have talked to who think a month or two is enough time to prepare for applications. I would start the process AT LEAST 4 months in advance. If you can afford to (financially and time wise) I would visit your top two choices to really get an understanding of their culture first. Make sure to reach out to students and the admission counselors ahead of time as well.

I received private tutoring from Dennis (based in Colorado) and had a phenomenal experience with him. He was completely engaged through every sessions and though we went at a quick pace, he explained everything to me thoroughly and always answered all my questions. He took the time to figure out my learning style and catered to that. I only had six weeks before retaking the test and he gave me confidence through planning out our study strategy week-by-week so I knew the targets to hit each week. If I had any questions I could text or email him and he responded within an hour or two. I increased my GMAT score by 100 points.

Everyone says be true to yourself in your application, and they're right. Carving out time for the GMAT is crucial and cannot be overlooked. Make sure you also carve out quality time to write out your core values, dreams, goals and aspirations — these are the things that needs to be obvious in the 2–3 essays you'll be submitting.

I found Veritas to be very helpful in my prep for the gmat. the gmat is over 4-hours long and it takes more than just knowing and understanding the concepts – you have to learn to pace yourself and the best way to do that is to simulate actual test conditions. Veritas provided me with several free and challenging practice tests with comprehensive feedback. By that I mean, each question that I answered incorrectly, Veritas provided detailed explanation as to how to approach it better next time. It was very helpful.

MY MAIN PIECE OF ADVICE: IF YOU ARE ABLE TO, TAKE ABOUT 3 WEEKS OFF BEFORE WRITING THE GMAT. IN THOSE THREE WEEKS GET IN THE ZONE AND CLEAR YOUR HEAD OF ALL ELSE EXCEPT THE GMAT. YOU WILL FIND YOUR RESULTS WILL BE MUCH BETTER THIS WAY.

I found Veritas prep to be incredibly useful. When I applied to schools, I didn’t Know the first thing about admissions and my admissions consultant (Shelli-Ann) helped me to understand which schools would be right for me and how to put my best foot forward in the application process. I highly recommend Veritas admissions consulting, especially if you find the process to be confusing (as I think most do!). They really helped me cut through the noise, and I’m now attending the school of my dreams!

I used Veritas practice tests only, but found that the software was extremely intuitive and easy to use. the most useful feature is how specific the answers were in helping me understand the topic and assess the correct answer from the incorrect ones. I spent ample time on the tests to gauge progress, and was able to improve my understanding of the different topics by solely reading the analysis of every question, whether I got it right or wrong.

I used veritas prep on my ipad. their app was perfect for my studying habits. I used it on the train to and from work. This allowed me to not have an additional 2 hours of my day wasted. they cover all topics in a basic yet thorough manner. i used kaplan and princeton review to study for the mcat. now I did do well on the mcat and get into medical school later on. but i decided that was not for me. i used both of those big name companies along with exam krackers prep. i can say with certain confidence that veritas prep did more for me than either kaplan or princeton. that could just be me but i felt that the way ek and veritas structured their lessons and explained things in practical matters rather than the typical content heavy manner of the others benefitted me more. i would highly recommend veritas to anyone who is choosing a prep book or company.

I used the videos Veritas puts out online and really enjoyed them! They were a bit slow, but it was nice to listen to them to better understand what strategies I should be employing. It was also a nice backup to the Kaplan book I was using and having the verbal cues was useful. I especially liked the girl in the videos. Their cheerfulness helped me make it through the GMAT.

I like the structure of having a lead consultant but also having a school specialist who is an MBA grad from that school. The lead consultant would give you great overall guidance for the entire process and feedback on your essays while the school specialists really make it pop out, tailoring your application specifically to the school you’re applying to. This was really essential for me since I’m an international student with absolutely no experience with US colleges before.
MBA Program & Grad Year:
University of Chicago Booth School of Business
Your MBA Application & School Advice:
Apply early and only after you've done your GMATs. Don't adopt a shotgun approach by applying to 10 different schools in hope of getting accepted into one. Do your research and take time developing your application and customizing it to the school. Different schools will suit people differently so also take time to think that through. Where you want to be and where you want to go after.
Finally, Booth is the best. So, you should definitely apply there!
Deepti – :
Great, hands on teaching from Veritas. My consultant was always available for any questions I had or for timely review of my materials, or just for a confidence boost before interviews. The team seemed knowledgeable about the schools and what they were looking for, particularly important as an International student where I wasn’t as close to the process.
MBA Program & Grad Year:

Your MBA Application & School Advice:
Research how each school is different in terms of teaching style, what location they are in and how that relates to your personal and career goals.
Marissa Grayfer – :
Flawless process! Scored 680 on my first practice test and 730 on my first attempt at the GMAT. The software provided a great user experience and I never experienced any technical problems. The most useful feature for me was the huge bank of practice questions – as it got closer to the test date, I started starring all the ones I had problems with and then just worked through that list, removing questions as I was able to answer them quickly and correctly.
The only thing I didn’t like is that the practice tests seemed harder than the actual GMAT – I never broke 710 on a practice test, yet scored 730 on the GMAT.
MBA Program & Grad Year:
Cornell '18
JD – :
Veritas GMAT test prep was really excellent, went from a (lucky) 690 in a practice test to consistent 730 on practice tests and the actual exam.
However, regarding their admissions consulting, I agree with the other review that it is too expensive for what they do. Think about it – with any fixed-fee consultancy, it’s in their best interest to spend as little time as possible with you. These people have outside jobs, which (in my experience) came into a bit of conflict with my schedule, since I am not based in the US. I felt that essay feedback was not actionable or consistent – a typical comment was “this needs to be more compelling.” OK, great – but I hired them for suggestions and constructive feedback, and felt like I received neither.

Your MBA Application & School Advice:
If you are going to hire a consultant, find a smaller shop that will really devote personal attention to you, rather than try to be done with you in a few hours.

Vertitas was useful because of the online content. By having recordings of the course available, I had the ability to review the content at my own pace, and rewind to see content again. This was invaluable.

I used veritas to try to improve my scores. I was getting at the low 500s when I first took a GMAT sample exam. I then signed up for Veritas and was able to increase my score by close to 200 points. I scored a little below what I had intended and got a score 680. Still, it got me a pass to an ivy school institution, which is also a top 20 school. I could not have done that with my original score.
