“Here is the truth and Scott deserves to be exposed. Scott provides great commentary in his webinars and when you meet him in person for events. Once you actually sign the contract, however, it’s a completely different story. I’ve found him to be not that responsive, and he’s provided really low-effort edits (maybe a comment here or two) for literally the equivalent of hundreds of dollars in pay for that time spent. You hire a consultant because you want someone to dig into the details of your essays, story, and someone who has deep expertise in the schools and admissions process. At the end of the day, we apply to school one time, and these people have done it countless times. I’m sure he has some of that knowledge, but it doesn’t come through in the work product that he provides. I would also say he’s not very personable (actually saw this as a plus at first because I wanted someone who would give me real feedback), and he also doesn’t want to do calls after work hours, which I think is ridiculous, given the industry he’s chosen for himself. Overall, my impression is that he gives minimal and low-effort edits so that he can earn a high paycheck and that’s it.”
“Scott and his team were instrumental in my MBA journey and I didn’t make things easy for them. I decided last minute to apply last round, which meant I had 1.5 weeks to submit my application for LBS and Cambridge. The team worked around the clock to help me flesh out my essays, goals, and personal statements.”

Colin – :
A full time MBA is such an investment of time and money as is. I felt it would be shortsighted to cut cost and go into the application process without being fully informed, so I decided to work with Personal MBA Coach and MJ Shores. It was well worth it and I feel it provided exactly what I needed. I was accepted to Wharton R1 and felt prepared every step of the way.
David – :
I chose Personal MBA because I wanted help staying on track, framing my story to stand out, and to ensure I did not have blind spots or gaps in my overall application. MJ and the team delivered those and more, giving me the peace of mind that I had put together the best possible application with the experiences I had. As a result, I was admitted to multiple schools and wound up at my top choice, with a scholarship.
David G. Cascante Mora – :
Going through a new process on a huge MBA system like the US one is daunting, especially if you want to make the best out of your time and MBA. From the first contact with both Scott and MJ I felt like I was talking to knowledgeable people, but also willing to guide and teach. My experience was tough but I always felt cheered in and supported.
If I would get to do this process again, I would get Personal MBA again, hands down.
Tyler – :
As a non-traditional applicant, I was very lost in the beginning. MJ took the time to find my strengths to craft a great narrative for my essays. I appreciated that she regularly checked in and gives very candid advice while being empathetic.
Ariel – :
Scott and his team were fantastic partners throughout my MBA application journey. Their support and knowledge were incredibly helpful, as they took the time to truly understand my goals and how to best leverage my strengths. With their guidance, I was able to clarify why I wanted an MBA and how to share my story effectively. The interview preparation was the best coaching I have ever received for an interview – Jacqueline was super direct and pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. I only applied to CBS and NYU and received acceptance offers from both, along with very generous scholarship awards. I could not have done this process without Personal MBA Coach and HIGHLY recommend them!
Katie – :
Hello everyone! I wanted to share an excellent resource to fellow MBA applicants. I was admitted to Booth’s class of 2026, and I know without Personal MBA Coach this would not have happened. I used Personal MBA Coach to support me during the essay writing and interviewing process. I worked with MJ for my essay writing and I cannot recommend her enough. As the former Director of Admissions at Wharton, she is an expert at refining applications to be extremely precise and clear to an admissions committee at the world’s top MBA programs. I entered the process unaware that my essay was imprecise and lacked direction. Through working with MJ, I not only left with a clear MBA essay, I did deep reflection as to what exactly I want to do with my career and precisely how an MBA will help me get there. I worked with Skyler for my interview preparation. He helped me organize my thinking to help me communicate my ideas clearly for an interviewer to follow. I left every interview feeling extremely confident and optimistic about the results. I am over the moon with my Booth acceptance, and I am eternally grateful to Personal MBA Coach. Best of luck to all of you on your MBA journey!
Nicholas Yan – :
Overall, Scott’s mentorship was incredibly helpful and helped me convey my MBA story concisely & clearly. I particularly enjoyed the essay support and interview preparation.

When I decided to pursue an MBA, the option of choosing a coach was not easy but The Personal MBA Coach and Scott were the perfect choice. I had a very ambitious list of schools I was interested in. And once the process started, they immediately dove in to help shape my story, ensuring it was both authentic and compelling for the programs I applied to. They struck a perfect balance between edits while allowing me to maintain ownership of my narrative. Their guidance also helped me present my achievements in the best possible light while instilling confidence in my story. I was incredibly proud of my essays and short questions by the end of it.
Their support during the interview process also played a crucial role, the mock interviews were a great tool that offered detailed feedback that made me feel confident and ready for the actual interview.
Ultimately, I received admission offers from four schools with scholarship offers—an outstanding outcome for any MBA aspirant.
Scott provided helpful support throughout the entire application process, guiding me in the right direction. His support was invaluable, and I am deeply grateful to him and his team for their assistance.

I was in a rather unique situation of having only a short list of three schools I was in interested in applying for. Scott & team wasted no time in helping me draft my story and tell it in a way that was authentic to me while highlighting elements that were uniquely important to each of the programs I applied for. Working with him gave my MBA application process structure and it was great to see my story take form after rounds of edits. Scott was also able to strike a delicate balance between guiding me to elaborate and clarify where needed and still letting me tell my own story.
Scott was also tremendously helpful in the interview preparation process. The mock interviews gave me a very good taste of what the actual interviews would be like and helped target my efforts in areas that needed improvement the most. The admissions outcomes have been great so far. I am accepted into one of my top choice schools and waitlisted at another. Scott now continues to support me work through the waitlist process. His experience and strong strategic mindset really shine through and I would highly recommend anyone considering applying for an MBA to work with him.

I highly recommend Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team to anyone applying to business school. When I met with Scott, he immediately understood how to translate my niche experience to MBA admissions committees and took the time to explain each aspect of the application process to me. He also took the time to learn about my interests and goals to help me devise a school list that fit those well. Scott also kept me accountable with frequent reminders and his team really pushed me to do my best work when writing essays. The team made sure that I moved through each of the application components in a timely manner while making sure to only move onto the next component when the current one was at its best. I also encountered some personal circumstances during the process and took a pause for a few months. When I contacted Scott to resume working on my applications, he was eager to help me and it genuinely felt like he cared about my success – no matter what that looked like. He was also really personable and accessible, which is something that was really valuable. I ended up getting accepted to all the schools to which I applied (Booth, Kellogg, Ross).
Mark – :
Scott and his team (MJ specifically) are absolute all-stars and the very best in the business. They provided a structured plan on how to tackle the applications yet still provided a customizable and personalized experience throughout. I cannot recommend them enough. Thanks Scott/MJ & team for relieving my application stress and anxiety and getting me superb results.

I cannot recommend Scott and his team enough!
I had a difficult timeline and scheduling constraints being active duty military on deployment, but Scott and his team were proactive and so understanding during the process. I felt that they really listened to my story and helped me find ways to articulate that to the admissions committees, rather than trying to have me fit a specific mold of a successful candidate.
They were responsive, thoughtful and instrumental in me ultimately being admitted to Wharton, Booth, McCombs, and HBS!
Absolutely the best decision I made for applications!

I have received three full rides to T15 schools and I ultimately received over $700K in scholarship across multiple schools. Scott and his team have been super helpful and knowledgeable as I went through my application journey. Through their support, I learned so much about how to effectively answer essay prompts and embed school values into my answers in the essay writing and interview preparation stages. Especially for interviews, the feedback I received from his team was super helpful. I was really given a lot of guidance on how to structure certain answers to questions that I had not considered before. I have gotten so many compliments from my interviewers about how prepared I was, all because of their guidance.

I highly recommend MJ as a coach. I attended a mock TBD hosted by MJ, and her support and feedback were extremely helpful. I felt really confident going into the final TBD after being prepped by MJ. She highlighted all my strengths and ensured I was able to showcase it. She also gave me pointers to work on and I am thrilled to be admitted to Wharton!
You are in good hands with MJ!

Scott and his team are incredibly efficient, organized, and helpful. I received an interview invite for every school I applied too (including 2 M7s) and just got into NYU with significant scholarship. I will be hearing back from the other schools in December 2023. (Update: I recently got into Darden, Duke ($$ scholarship), NYU ($$ scholarship), Kellogg and Columbia!) Through this process, Scott was patient and provided me with incredible mentorship advice as I went through this MBA journey. I particularly appreciated the essay advice and interview advice. These components really helped my application stand out. I would highly recommend working with Scott!!!
Laura Derenge – :
Scott knows each school inside and out and helped me craft a story that was authentic to me. I didn’t want to leave anything on the table applying to M7 schools. Scott is thoughtful, experienced, and objective. He made himself available throughout the process to help me gut check my schools and which pieces of my experience and story to spotlight to differentiate myself from others coming from my industry. I received tailored interview prep for each school. His expertise and detailed prep plan supported me at every step of the application process and gave me the structure, direction and confidence to stay focused and motivated. I was beyond proud of each of my applications, and received a top scholarship to my top school (M7).
Luca Ceruti – :
When I reached out to Scott, he responded promptly and was eager to begin our collaboration. Scott acted swiftly and worked closely with me to ensure my application was polished and submitted according to my preferred timeline. Beyond the genuine care and commitment he demonstrated in shaping my narrative, what truly impressed me during my collaboration with Scott and his team was their talent for prompting thoughtful reflection on the “why.” Scott pushed me to delve deeply into the reasons behind my aspirations and consider the tangible benefits the MBA journey would provide in achieving these goals. Importantly, Scott played a crucial role in helping me select the right schools for my MBA journey. His insights into various MBA programs were invaluable, and he guided me in aligning my goals with the unique offerings of each school. This comprehensive approach, coupled with the expertise of his team, significantly enhanced the quality of my MBA application. I’m grateful for Scott’s insights, guidance, and strategic input that contributed to a transformative experience in navigating the intricacies of the application process.
Sasivarnan Kanaghasalam Sathyapriya – :
I was happy to work with Scott and his team. First, for their punctual edits and the necessary push to be on track. Second, for the genuine interest that Scott has in understanding our background and helping us prepare the right content for each school. Lastly, the mock interviews were amazing as each of my mock interviewers were alumni of the school I was preparing for and had prior interviewing experience. Scott’s networking with admissions committee members of schools help us get a clear idea of the expectations in our essays and increase preparedness. It was an wonderful experience working with Scott and I would recommend for any aspiring MBA student

M7 Admit with Scholarship – Highly Recommend!
Personal MBA coach was incredible. The team is incredibly supportive and professional, while simultaneously being straight forward when helping me craft my story. I worked with a member of Scott’s team and it is completely worth the investment! I would highly encourage anyone applying to business school to consider them.

The team worked around the clock to help me flesh out my essays, goals, and personal statements. Scott’s team helped me prepare for my interviews and I entered them confidently. I have been accepted to Cambridge with a grant, and am still waiting to hear back from LBS but this shows just how effective Scott’s team is. I can’t thank them enough for their help.

I was originally going to apply to MBA programs next year, but Scott convinced me to take the plunge in round 3. I was initially very skeptical, given that it was already February and I had not even begun to study for, let alone take the gmat. However, Scott guided me through the entire process and helped me put together 5 applications in only two months. I ended up being admitted to 4/5 of the schools (with scholarships!), including my first choice, Chicago Booth. Thanks Scott!

Initially, I thought I could handle my MBA application on my own. However, after being waitlisted at my dream school, Wharton, I realized I needed professional help to improve my chances of acceptance. I found Scott and his waitlist strategy package, and he was very responsive and gave me valuable tips and advice during our call. His suggestions were especially helpful since they contradicted some of the advice I had received from friends and family.
Scott’s experience working with Wharton waitlist applicants was evident, and I appreciated his straightforward and honest approach. After following his advice and getting his help with my update letter, I was thrilled to be accepted at Wharton about 1.5 months later. I’m so glad I signed up for Scott’s waitlist strategy. He’s a pro who’s been in the game for a long time, and he knows what he’s doing. I highly recommend Scott to anyone seeking help with their MBA applications, and I wish I had used his services from the beginning. Thanks for everything, Scott!
Conor Kolstad – :
Scott and his team worked with me day and night to craft the best possible version of my application. The result was that I was accepted to the two M7 schools I applied to. This was made possible by Personal MBA Coach even under a truncated timeline as I started the application for Round 1 late in the summer. I would highly recommend this team for anyone looking to get into a top business school!

As a medical doctor with an outsider view of the MBA landscape, Scott and his team helped pushed my application to the top level. To be honest, I didn’t speak with other consultants as I was sold on the deal after my first chat with Scott. He was sincere and genuine about my chances and where we needed to be as a team if I wanted a shot at the schools I was applying to. He was also readily available for phone calls and email chats within 48 hours when needed. With essay writing, the regular edits and push from the editors ensured that I introspected into why a sentence or paragraph belonged in my essay – that in turn, made me dig deeper into how I wanted to convey my story and journey as a medical doctor seeking an MBA. I have nothing but thanks and adulation for my essay editor(s). Secondly, my mock interviewers were the best, they helped me rework my answers to the behavioural questions to highlight the points I want conveyed. Overall, this was money well spent as I am going to an M7 with significant scholarship (+ I also got a T15 admit with 50% scholarship). Thank you, Scott and team!!!!
Anna Walsh – :
Scott, MJ, and their team were so helpful during the admissions process. I came from a nontraditional background and started relatively late, but they encouraged me and reassured me that the timeline was doable. I got into all 4 programs I applied to (2 were top 10, 2 were top 20) and received full rides at 3 of them! They demonstrated that they cared about me as a person, not just as a client, from working with me to find a package that met my needs and budget, to answering questions that weren’t in our contract scope. Working with them also gave me invaluable peace of mind throughout the process. Instead of agonizing over ideas or wording in essays, or whether I should retake the GMAT, I could talk ideas through with them for a clear path forward. They went above and beyond, and the investment was well worth it!
BT – :
Scott and his team were instrumental during my MBA journey. He is extremely knowledgable about the admissions process and knew how to bring out the best in my application. Working with Scott and his team on school strategy to essays and interview prep despite some tight timelines was a smooth and structured process. I was worried about how things would go since I applied in Round 3/4 for programs from an overrepresented finance background, but Scott’s transparent and unbiased feedback and support ultimately helped me to land five T15 interviews and admits for those schools. I was even able to receive a full ride from one and a half tuition scholarship from another. If you are considering applying for an MBA program, I highly recommend working with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach Team!!!!!

Arts Background admitted to M7s with scholarship
GMAT 680 44Q/38V
GRE 157V/164Q
I cannot recommend Personal MBA Coach enough. I was admitted with scholarships to Booth, Kellogg, and Anderson.
I went to art school for my undergraduate degree, earning a BFA, and have worked in the film industry for a little over 5 years. With such an unconventional background, it was particularly important that I present a strong story in my application. Scott provided guidance to holistically craft my story through every aspect of the application, from what was on my resume to my essays and short answers.
His team helped polish my resume, by strengthening the way I bulleted my accomplishments at work. The school-specific interview prep was also super beneficial, helping me think of good experiences to pull from to provide examples to answer interview questions and structure my responses to be clear and easy to follow.
Beyond this, Scott was available at every step of the process to advise me about what schools would be the right fit for me, what story works best for each essay question, and whether I needed to retake the GMAT.
When I applied to MBA programs 3 years ago I was waitlisted at T20 schools. Personal MBA coach was 10000% worth the investment, especially considering I earned 180k total in scholarships from two M7 schools.
A Carson – :
With the help of Scott and the entire Personal MBA Coach team, I was accepted to 5 of my 6 schools with 1 waitlist (all T15 programs). I received over $375k in scholarship funding, including $115k to an M7 and a full ride to a T15 program. The investment in Scott and his team is well worth it. The essay feedback forced me to reflect on the “why’s” of my application, which ultimately made me a stronger candidate and be more prepared for interviews. They helped me tailor my story for each school, all without compromising the authenticity of my voice. It is no small feat applying to six schools, but with the project management tool and guaranteed next day turn around for essay edits, I was able to submit strong applications well ahead of the application deadlines. Scott and his team also provided excellent interview preparation from comprehensive prep guides to mock interviews. I am confident I would not have received the results I did without the support of Scott and his extremely talented team. I would 10/10 invest in their services again!
Balram Ottapathu – :
I can’t recommend Scott at Personal MBA Coach and his team enough. They are extremely comprehensive, structured, and professional in their approach to guiding you. Applying to business school really forces you to introspect and ask yourself why you really want an MBA. Scott and co, really help you through this introspection process, and you kind of learn more about yourself in the process, and I think that’s why they are very good at what they do. I applied to only M7 schools + Haas, I got interviews from 5 and 1 admit (so far). Even the interview coaching was very structured. I do think that he is quite upfront when it comes to profile assessment, for example, I wanted to apply in round one but my GMAT score came in on the lower side, and he was quite straight in letting me know that my shot was very low to get into the schools i were looking into. So he advised me to do more prep and get a higher score or try to add lower ranked schools into the list. He did not mince his words and I think that’s a good thing cause that’s his job, he was not being rude just being straightforward. If I were a prospective MBA applicant, I wouldn’t think twice about going elsewhere, Scott is your guy
Annie Zhang – :
Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach were absolutely incredible to work with. As someone without a lot of connections with business school experience/aspirations, finding a consultant was an important step that I had decided on quite early in my application journey. After shopping around the different options for a bit, I chose to work with Scott and his team for a couple of different reasons: they provide extremely comprehensive support, I felt that Scott genuinely cared about my MBA journey, and they had a great track record for M7 programs.
From the start, Scott and his team were masterful in helping me craft my story, patient in my many essays and resume revisions, and honest in their recommendations from an admissions perspective. I initially had the least confidence in my essays, resume, and interviews, and with the support of the editing and interview prep teams, I was as confident in those as ever. For perspective, I applied to seven schools, received six interviews, and was then admitted to all six, some with significant scholarships. From those results alone, I think the quality of the support really speaks for itself, and I credit much of it to each step being handled by true experts.
Finally, I think what really sets Scott apart from the other admissions consultants is his accessibility — I’ve had many small questions pop up throughout my application process (ranging from financial aid, application strategy, logistics, etc), and he’s been very patient and prompt in his responses. He really understands that every component of the application matters.
Results-wise, I will be attending my top choice of MIT Sloan this fall. Outside of that, I was also admitted to CBS ED and Wharton, and I additionally was admitted to Kellogg, Ross, and Stern with significant scholarships (with Stern being a full ride). As someone who initially was not confident at all with the admissions process, this cycle was a tremendous success, and I could not have done it without the support of Scott and his team. I would highly recommend working with Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach for personal, knowledgeable, and comprehensive support in your business school applications.

Personal MBA Coach is a must-have investment for MBA applicants! (Military Vet – 3xM7 Admit)
Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team were an absolutely amazing resource for tying together my application package. The strength of his program provided me with a feeling of insurance that I was showing MBA admissions boards the best written version of myself. The editors on staff are extremely responsive and interactive when it comes to articulating your ideas and crafting your “story” into a written essay format. The editor that worked with me would return comments on my writing typically within 24-48hrs which dramatically eased the iteration process and any stress associated with the application timeline.
Furthermore, the proofreader milestone in which finalized essays are scrubbed to perfection provides you with strong reassurance that the pieces of your application are truly ready when it comes time to actually click the “SUBMIT” button.
Most importantly, Scott is incredibly available for a gut check conversation whenever needed. The Personal MBA Coach team does an incredible job working through your written products while Scott provided me with great big-picture consulting guidance for navigating the application cycle.
Tremendous resource.
Satheesh Narasimman – :
Personal MBA Coach went beyond their call of duty and offered a 1-hour consultation. I sought their advice to approach and effectively address a thorny issue on my MBA personal statement.
Within hours of submitting my request, when Scott Edinburgh promptly reached out to me and agreed to go beyond their normal services, I did not look for further options.
After the consultation with MJ Shores was set up, she herself reached out to me and set up an appointment at my convenience. Upon learning about the prospect of being advised by the former Admissions Director at Wharton and former Admissions Dean at UCLA, I was confident about addressing the pricky issue.
MJ thoroughly went through my resume and personal statement, and with her eagle’s eye, got down to the atomic-level and spotted the flaws. Her incisiveness was beyond amazing; she advised me to not overthink the issue and rather, convince the adcom about that such an issue would not occur again.
MJ’s with her edits and feedback on my resume and personal statement prior to the meeting, made it convenient for me to incorporate her advise. Also, MJ answered follow-up questions after the session. As of yet, my admission decision is not known. I will keep coming back to them for more. Thank you so much, Personal MBA Coach and MJ Shores.

I had a wonderful experience working with Scott and his team! I’ve been admitted to my top choice M7 school and received a full scholarship at another school.
I had initial consultations with several other consulting services but chose to work with Scott because I felt he was the most honest and genuine when analyzing my profile. He offered unbiased feedback on my school goals and gave me suggestions on how to boost my application by pushing myself harder on the GMAT and taking the time to dive deeper into my extracurriculars. When I was ready to apply a year later I knew exactly who I wanted to work with. I chose to work with Scott through my entire application and each part (essays, resume, letter of recommendation, etc.) had a strategy and framework which took all the guesswork out of the application for me.
Essay and resume editing was extremely easy and I felt it was truly collaborative. He took the time to understand my goals and story so I always received very clear feedback with suggestions on how to more effectively communicate my interests and highlight different parts of my story depending on the school’s prompts. I also really enjoyed the interview prep process and found the feedback from each of my prep sessions invaluable in boosting my confidence and giving me frameworks to use to thoughtfully answer questions. Everybody on the team was a pleasure to work with!
I would absolutely recommend Scott to anyone looking to apply to MBA! His process took all the guesswork out of my application process and he genuinely cares about supporting your goals!

This is a wonderful tool to help students get into the schools of their dreams. I wish I knew about this amazing tool when I was looking to get into undergraduate school.

I cannot recommend the Personal MBA Coach team enough! After talking with other companies, I chose Scott’s team; he was honest and genuine in sharing his thoughts about my profile and collaborated with me to design a plan. Scott assisted me throughout the process, worked with me to brainstorm essay ideas, and helped me re-gain confidence when I ran into some bumps during the application process. Huge shoutout to the entire team overall for the great mock interview experiences and fantastic essay edit suggestions! I’d highly recommend working with Personal MBA Coach.
Mackenzie Morris – :
I’ve never had such a thorough review of my resume before. The Personal MBA Coach team did a deep dive into my materials. They helped me reorganize my resume, reviewed my bullet points, and gave me very specific feedback on how to improve it. On my essays, they did not hold back! They commented on the content and style, and I feel confident that my essays are as strong as they can be.

I could not recommend Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team highly enough! As a reapplicant, I went from being rejected (without interview) from all the schools I applied for the previous year (using a brand-name consultant), to a 75% hit rate on interviews and a 100% conversion rate from here working with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team. I am now off to my #1 choice of school next August. The team work hard, round the clock and give you the tough love that you need in order to take your application to the next level. Look no further for the best in the business!

I cannot recommend the Personal MBA team enough. After interviewing with other companies, I responded best to Scott’s firm and structured attitude; he was honest regarding gaps in my resume and collaborated with me on areas to improve. Scott assisted me throughout the process, motivating me to lift my test scores with tutoring services, narrowing down on a target school list, and pushing my essays farther when I was creatively tapped. I highly recommend working with Personal MBA Coach.

Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team helped me get into my dream school! (M7) I had a fantastic experience working with Personal MBA Coach, who provided comprehensive support and guidance on every aspect of the application process. The team helped me present my application in the best way possible, helped me reflect on my goals, and made an otherwise overwhelming process more structured. Scott was always responsive to any and all questions I had. I highly recommend working with Personal MBA Coach!
Tanmai Rayavarapu – :
Great coaching and structure that helps you stay on track! I thought the advice was always great however it’s up to you to push through your personality and opinions in the essays and interviews.
Sophie – :
The MBA personal coach was able to help me navigate the entire MbA application process and made sure that my story was told in the most sensible way.

I worked with Scott and his team for one school and got in! I stress one because I only had my heart set on that program, MIT Sloan. I didn’t want a backup I knew this was the program for me. With the support of Scott and his team I got in my first time applying! They support in all aspects of the application process, interview prep, exam prep and if you get waitlisted. I highly recommend getting support during the application process, it will help you stand out and better your chances of getting in. I’ll also note I did my homework and vetted him against a few others. I felt Scott was the best fit due to their experience with the program I was interested in, Sloan. My experience with the Personal MBA Coach Team has been overwhelmingly positive. Scott and his team are highly responsive, creative and insightful in their consulting services, finding unique ways to position my application that highlights my strengths.
Particularly valuable was the level of flexibility that Scott provided. He was willing to work around my hectic schedule and ensured that my priorities were put first.
I would recommend the Personal MBA Coach Team to anyone looking for an exceptional consulting team that offers a best-in-class service.

I worked with Scott and his team on an M7 this year and found his team incredible helpful and insightful on what each specific school was looking for. Scott was always quick to respond and always provided thoughtful and valuable feedback. I was admitted to the M7 that I applied to thanks to Scott and his team! I highly recommend his services!

I have used Scott’s mock interview service, that was just a FANTASTIC Experience!
They know what the core values of my target school is, they know what the interviewer want, they know how to fit each candidate into each schools.
They arrange the interview real quick and give me useful comments so that I can review, practice and improve again!
Thanks a lot, Scott, and Jacqueline, you guys are the best!

As a deferred applicant, I worked with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team on Wharton, and the process was seamless. I was amazed by how quickly I received feedback! The team and I worked through my entire app in ~3 weeks. The process was so fast, I was shocked when it was time to submit. At first, I thought it was too good to be true. I thought we missed something. But, the team patiently answered any follow-up questions and concerns I had, and weeks later I received an invitation to interview.
Also, I appreciate how Scott and each member of the Personal MBA Coach team offered clear guidance on my work. I left each call and draft review with a clear understanding of what I needed to do next. I still remember leaving my initial call with Scott feeling excited to start my essays!
Moreover, I love that the PMC team includes people who worked in admissions for top MBA programs previously. Working with the team felt like I was walking into the application process with all the answers. For example, when preparing for my Wharton TBD, I was anxious because there are so many things you can’t control with a group interview. But, the PMC team gave me clear pointers on how to stand out. That helped me feel confident entering the TBD.
Candidly, as a college senior, I was concerned about the cost of MBA coaching. Looking back, however, it was worth it. If you are serious about attending business school, I recommend you make the investment and work with PMC!

I had heard about Scott and the Personal MBA Coach through a close friend who found success with the service. Working with the Personal MBA Coach was the best decision I made throughout the MBA process! Scott and his team provided candid, personalized feedback across all aspects of the application, were extremely responsive, and most importantly, ensured that my authenticity shined throughout the entire application. With Scott and team’s help, I was accepted to Wharton, Tuck, Kellogg, Booth, and Columbia and was given scholarship offers for many of the listed schools! I am deeply grateful for the team holding me accountable to deadlines and making me feel thoroughly prepared for every school’s unique application. Furthermore, his team encouraged me to self-reflect on my career goals and aspirations and this clarity will definitely help as I embark on my MBA journey this fall. Personal MBA Coach is by far an impeccable team of folks to work with and I highly, highly recommend hiring them if you are interested in beginning the MBA process (trust me – the sooner the better)! Sincerest thank you to the team!!

Personal MBA Coach and Scott specifically have been exceptional consultants for me and I had experience with other consultants to compare with. The result speaks for itself: Scott’s holistic view of the process and his ability to quickly grasp my story helped me get into one of the top 3 most selective business schools having just 6 days!!! before the application deadline. During the application process, Scott greatly helped me crystallize the right positioning for my case. He then went over the top to help me with other aspects of the application to help me meet the deadline. Although I’ve been already partially acquainted with the process I can honestly say that I would not be able to get it done in time with such quality without Scott. Furthermore, his services improved my strategic positioning skills which I’m pretty sure I will benefit from throughout my entire career. I would highly recommend Scott to any applicant pursuing their MBA goals.

Scott was recommended to me by a friend who was using his service. I am so glad that I eventually decided to go with Scott! I got into both HBS and Wharton and will start my journey at HBS this coming fall. Scott and his team were very helpful throughout the process, helping me with my story and essays, as well as the interview prep. For each school I signed up with him, he and his team went through 6+ essay edits with me. Super patient! For HBS and GSB, we went through 10+ edits. Each time the comments were very helpful! In addition, shout out to MJ. She helped me with my interview prep for both HBS and Wharton. I would highly recommend them!

I got accepted into the Deferred Enrollment Program at CBS, and I have The Personal MBA Coach Team and Scott to thank for this. They helped connect my experiences and accomplishments to my future goals and portray it in an apt manner to the Adcoms. They are upfront about their feedback and only had my success in mind throughout the process. Innumerable rounds of review does not bother them. The interview prep is also spot on and extremely helpful to a nervous interviewee like myself. Without them, I don’t think I would get into any deferred MBA program. I would strongly recommend them to any potential candidate.

Overall incredibly helpful with my MBA application process. Candidly I had no idea what I was doing at all, and had no confidence in my stats / story, but Scott helped me craft a very strong application – I was accepted to four out of the five T-7 schools that I applied to. I wholeheartedly believe that I was much more successful in my applications than I would have been without his help. He was very responsive throughout the process and kept me motivated and on-track whenever I lost focus. I would definitely recommend Scott!

Furthermore, he and his team were very flexible and always reachable.

Would highly recommend.

Scott and his team are truly talented. The Personal MBA Coach team and a lead editor worked on my content for one school (NYU Stern), which I was accepted into! Scott was professional, easy to work with, and turned around the essay I sent to his team quickly (<10 days before the Round Two deadline). I knew I’d have a hard time applying to T15 schools because I, perhaps, didn’t have as strong of a profile as most other T15 applicants. So, I searched for consultants that not only would help me highlight my strengths but also help me strategically apply to schools. I’m grateful to share that Scott and his team truly went above and beyond to help me put my best foot forward, fine-tuning my story and USPs. He and his team were always very responsive, tailored their feedback and suggestions to the many questions and challenges I faced when writing my essays. The team helped me craft and perfect my story and resume to show that I was more than just the sum of my numbers.
I was a bit skeptical reading all the five-star reviews, but Scott and his team live up to what his past clients have to say about him and his team. I was accepted to my first-choice school, Cornell Johnson with a $55k scholarship. I am so incredibly grateful to Scott and his team, I could not have done this without him. In the end, the scholarship money I’ll receive from Cornell paid for Scott’s services. I couldn’t recommend him more, A+!

I met Scott 3 years ago at an MBA fair in Paris. I decided to work with him for my round 2 applications and called him pretty late in the process. I was worried about my low GPA, my age and the price tag. From the initial meeting, Scott gave me non-sugarcoated advice about my candidacy. Working with The Scott’s team was amazing. The team is highly professional. There were a lot of exchanges and I was pushed to think deeply on my career goals and the meaning of every bit of sentence in my application documents. Be prepared to be challenged on that part. Towards the end of the preparation, the team checked how I felt about my work. I was very proud of the quality of my application! The interview prep was great too. I was asked the same questions I was asked during my real interviews (shout out to Nicole and Jacqueline!).
I applied to 2 US schools (CBS and Booth) and 1 European school, got admitted at both the US schools with scholarships, and haven’t received the European’s school response yet but I am pretty sure It will be a “yes”.
All in one, this outcome would never have been possible without Scott and his amazing team (I know it for sure since I applied round 1 with another consultant on an hourly basis, and looking back, I can confidently say that I messed these applications up).
Calling Scott was the best decision I made next year! Thank you, Scott, and the Personal MBA Coach team for this outcome!

without him! I used his services for applying to 5 schools and GMAT tutoring. I got into my top choice program at an M7 and couldn’t be happier!
I started the MBA application process pretty late (treated it like a sprint, not a marathon). I started working through applications and the GMAT together starting in June/July for R1 deadlines in September. I reached out to Scott because I knew I was going to be overwhelmed. I was looking for somebody who’d keep me honest, was organized, pragmatic, easily approachable, and knew his stuff. Scott 100% met this.
Throughout the process Scott was a voice of reason. He’s great at listening to you and explaining the nuances of the application process. When I was considering pushing some of my applications to R2 Scott helped me strategize so that I maximized my chances in both rounds. The turn around on essay reviews were very quick, the feedback always targeted and actionable. Whenever I started falling behind on timelines (which was often!), I got a gentle reminder to help keep me on track.
The interview prep also really helped. The mock interviewers are former members of admissions committees for top schools and have actual experience with admissions reviews. Nicole from Scott’s team did my interview prep and she was fantastic. The feedback is provided real time and takes into consideration the school you’re prepping for and what is important for that school.
I could not recommend Scott more! You won’t go wrong with Personal MBA coach.

Your MBA Application & School Advice:
Start early. The process is 100% a marathon and not a sprint. Don't try taking your GMAT/GRE and complete your applications at the same time. Get the tests out of the way first. When selecting schools, make sure to do your homework on them first. Attend admissions events, show interest etc. B schools want to know if you are genuinely interested in them because they want admitted students to accept offers. It's definitely quality over quantity of applications!
Jessica Wang – :
As a STEM applicant with little to no insight into the business school application process, I knew I needed the guidance of admissions experts to optimize my chances of getting in. I came across Personal MBA Coach during my research on consultants, and I was impressed with the consistently positive reviews and the caliber of schools that their clients were getting accepted to.
I purchased the Comprehensive Package and worked with Scott and Nicole, both of whom were very responsive, honest and knowledgeable about all aspects of the application process. They, along with my editor, helped me craft my narrative such that my goals were clearly defined and my strengths and expertise were highlighted. The interview prep was also incredibly helpful as it prepared me for what to expect and how best to answer the questions. Throughout the entire process, they were able to tailor their guidance to recommend what would be best for me because they made an effort to get to know me and my story. I would also give extra stars if I could for how willing they were to make extra time for me last-minute and outside of business hours!
If you’re hesitating because of the price tag, I was in the same situation, but I am so glad I went for it. It is definitely an investment that will pay off in the long run! This was the first and only time I applied and I received multiple admission offers so I did not have to pay for another application cycle, and the scholarships I received more than compensated for how much I paid for Personal MBA Coach’s services. I would highly recommend Personal MBA Coach!

Great team. Really helpful. Helped me drill down my story and USP’s. Really good feedback on essays. Interview practice was great. Every answer was reviewed and feedback given on the spot so I could easily make notes on how to improve.
Payment plans are available which enabled me to use the services. Scott is flexible. Although he is running a business, I got the impression that he cared about providing a service that would get the results I was looking for. He gives honest feedback, if he doesn’t think he can help you he will make this clear at the outset and suggest other options rather than just take your money without considering your desired outcomes.
I started working with Scott pretty late (November for January deadlines) in my application cycle and was worried that I may have left it too late but the team was really accommodating and reviewed my applications surprisingly quickly given the holiday season. The service was great and I would recommend it to anyone who can afford it.
If there was one thing I would suggest by way of improvement it would be to add an adcom specialist from a European School. I think that may set PMC apart from everyone else.
To anyone reading this please don’t read this as they don’t know how to get you into a European school (I got into Oxford), I just think adding someone who has European experience will add something to the team.
Thanks to Scott and the team at PMC. I am really happy with my results!

Scott is incredibly experienced in MBA admissions, extremely responsive in communications, and attentive to your needs as an applicant. I remember pitching multiple stories for how I was thinking about approaching my applications, and Scott helped me decide on a singular story while we were chatting on the phone. After that, it was off to the races crafting my personal statement.
In addition to the qualitative aspects, Scott was able to drive outstanding results through end-to-end process support. The iterations on my personal statements and admissions essays were timely and actionable, sometimes going so far as scrapping most of a first draft in favor of more concise story-telling. By the end of the process, I felt like I was delivering a narrative that only I could tell, and it came across as very intentional and authentic.

I was referred to Scott by a friend who applied in the 2020 cycle and got admitted to an M7. Right from my first “getting to know you” session, Scott was very direct and honest about my candidacy and MBA prospects, which I really appreciated. I did not have the best scores on paper, but Scott and the team pushed beyond that. The team helped me carve out and perfect my story and resume to show that I was more than just the sum of my numbers. The team helped me identify certain anecdotes from my life and helped me turn them into cases for competency in business school. There is a certain way to craft business school essays, and the PMC team knows exactly what it is and what specific schools are looking for. The whole process was so smooth and well planned that I completed all my applications well before the deadlines.
After countless essay reviews, one on one calls and emails, the team also assisted me with interview prep and gave valuable feedback, ensuring that I was in peak performance.

I had an excellent experience working with Scott, MJ and Nicole. From my initial phone call, Scott was direct, informed and honest. He helped me craft a target list of schools to suit my ability and background. Though he is at every step supportive, he’s unusual in that his feedback is consistently candid. He does not sugarcoat. In a process as nebulous as MBA applications, this was much appreciated. I knew the minimum score I needed to hit on my GMAT and how I needed to position myself for each school.
Once you begin preparing for interviews, you’ll meet MJ and Nicole, who are best-in-class. They bring incredible experience and can walk you through exactly what to expect at every school on your list. Not to mention they’re wonderful people, kind and encouraging.

It was great working with the team. I felt that their understanding of what different schools are looking for is extremely thorough. We started out by shortlisting the schools that would be best aligned to my goals and experience. We then worked on my goal statement, and CV, before moving on to the recommendations and essays.
The process was very detailed yet we moved fast. We did several iterations on each element till we were satisfied. The platform used to collaborate on these materials was very streamlined. I chose to work with Scott after seeing him present at an admissions event. I liked his straightforward style (he does not sugarcoat) and that he had a good answer for the question “Why should I go with you rather than someone who has worked in admissions?” (to which he responded he had the most up-to-date information, which not all former adcoms have, and he is well-connected to current adcoms). After working with him for a few months, I decided extremely last minute to apply to schools during the Covid round. I applied in Round 2, and I spoke to a lot of consultants before finalizing Personal MBA Coach. I liked Scott for his straightforward approach. He helped me select schools suited to my skills, and throughout the journey, the team was really prompt in responding. The team gave some key points in framing up my essays and resume. Another great thing about Personal MBA Coach is the focus on short answers and how the team ensured that we take care of every little detail on time. However, do not expect him to push you to send drafts of your essays. He trusts his clients and his approach will work if you are driven.
For me, the highlight was the interview support. The detailed analysis provided by them helped me refine my communication skills, frame my answers well and take care of critical points. Thanks to Personal MBA Coach, I will be joining Wharton this fall.

I cannot recommend Scott and Personal MBA Coach more highly.
I reached out to Personal MBA Coach in mid-November after working with another consultant for 3+ months without making much progress on my applications. I wound up starting from scratch, but in spite of the relatively late start, I was able to submit 6 complete applications (MIT, NYU, Wharton, Stanford, HBS, Columbia) for round 2. Scott and his team were incredible, and as soon as I was on board with Scott the progress was immediate and tangible. Thereafter, any delays in my applications were of my own making and I was continually surprised by the promptness with which essays were turned. The service is truly “turnkey” and I received comprehensive help for all of the schools I was fortunate enough to interview with and be waitlisted at. At the end of the day I got into one of my top schools.

I highly recommend Scott from Personal MBA Coach as an excellent MBA application consultant. (www.personalmbacoach.com). Here is why:
My primary goal was to get into Sloan and I was not a perfect candidate (not a super high GMAT or undergrad GPA, etc.). He really helped to bring my best story to come out in my application.
He kept me organized in my thought process and with the deadlines throughout the application cycle.
He gave me an honest assessment of my strengths and weaknesses as an applicant. He knows how to leverage your strengths and mitigate your weaknesses. He is experienced and practical. He listens and crafts a practical strategy that is customized to your circumstances.
I am a person who asks a lot of questions (sometimes a little too much) and he is very patient. He is friendly and professional at the same time.
I really enjoyed working with Scott, and Looking back I really think it was a very wise decision. Highly recommended!

I used Personal MBA Coach for their 5-school package, and I ended up signing up for my sixth school since they broke down the complicated application process into simpler step-by-step process.
Before I started my application process, I did a fair bit of research on consultants, and finally decided to go with Personal MBA Coach. From Day 1, Scott will give you the honest, non-sugarcoated advice that everybody needs. As a business school applicant, you need to understand what your strengths are as well as your weaknesses. Most consultants are good with telling you your strengths, but they are not as good with telling you your weaknesses as they do not want to upset you. Scott was different, and hence I decided to go with Scott and his team.
Throughout the application process, I knew that I could rely on Personal MBA Coach as Scott was always there and would answer my emails/questions even during weekends or Christmas! From minor points in my overall story to locations I should select for my interviews, Scott would answer all my questions (no matter how minor and tedious they might be).
I am now admitted by one of the top 3 programs in the US, and will be matriculating this fall. I highly recommend Personal MBA Coach if you are looking for the best consultant in the industry as I know I probably would not have made it without Scott and his team.

Scott was helpful in helping make my resume more actionable and in talking through initial brainstorming for essays. The interviews with alumni from the schools were also really helpful. Scott is very knowledgeable in what schools are looking for, but I found it more helpful to have my essays critiqued by people who know me well. As an applicant from a non-traditional background I found his essay feedback somewhat generic and the diligence of the final check not thorough enough. I found a couple of spelling mistakes in TWO of my applications after his team did the final proofreading review, right before I hit submit! Although this could happen to anyone, the proofreader should be more trustworthy, especially at this price. I was lucky to get into most schools I applied to, but had as more success with the applications I did without Scott. I think he’s a great person to talk to hourly and for interviews, but would not recommend the full package!

I reached out to PersonalMBACoach for their “Gut Check” service less than two weeks before the deadlines for my two schools – HBS (admitted) and GSB (waitlisted) – and I’m super glad I did. Prior to sending it over, I was positive about my application and had spent two months on it. However Scott and his team dug deep and provided strong constructive feedback that showed I still had a long way to go. I can’t say enough good things about Scott and his team. I would 100% recommend him to anyone who is applying to business school. His personal approach is unique. Anytime we needed to chat, he was available for calls. I always spoke to him, as his team operated efficiently in the background. Scott was always expedient on responding to emails and he was meticulous when he provided suggested edits to essays and application prompts. If we did not see eye-to-eye on a certain detail as it pertained to the essays or application, he would explain his thoughts in-depth, and then we would come to an agreed-upon decision on how to approach. Ultimately, he helped me achieve my goal of getting into one of my top choices, and I cannot be any happier. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team to achieve my dream of matriculating at a top-20 MBA program. Thank you again, Scott!

Scott and his team of editors were hugely helpful in my application journey. I was accepted to 3 of the 6 M7 programs I applied to, and I don’t know if that would have happened without his support. From the initial work we did together (writing a goal statement and resume from scratch) through the 15+ rounds of edits on each school’s essays, his editors had sharp, strong feedback, and what felt like clear knowledge as to what each school was looking for.
If you’re looking for a consultant to manage the overwhelming process of applying to b school, someone to help organize your time or to-do list, or someone you’ll speak to regularly on the phone, Scott is not your guy.
However, if you’re self motivated, want his unmatched one sheeters on how to prepare an application for each school, and want tough critical feedback (that is always returned quickly) that will get your applications to the best possible place, I highly recommend Personal MBA Coach.

I decided to work with Scott after doing consultations with four other firms. I was very disillusioned about the industry and wasn’t sure if I even wanted to work with anyone. Upon speaking with him, I was very pleasantly surprised by our natural chemistry and his easygoing nature. Rather than pushing a cookie-cutter narrative for my industry, he asked me for my story and pointed out areas that I should give more thought to. I was incredibly aggressive/ambitious in my school selection, however, Scott was very encouraging while still holding me accountable. Scott’s team pushed me to take my essays to new levels which I can now appreciate was instrumental to bringing my personality to life in the application. When I did not perform well on my GMAT, Scott was very direct with me that I was jeopardizing my future success. After leveraging Personal MBA Coach’s GMAT tutoring service, I was able to hit my target score. The interview prep, specifically for Wharton’s TBD, helped me ease my nerves before the actual interviews. I was waitlisted at my top choice and heavily relied on Scott’s guidance in writing update letters and also for strategies on how to navigate the smoke and mirrors of being a waitlisted candidate. I have so much respect for Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach. Their commitment to helping early career individuals achieve their professional goals is unwavering. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone who is looking for a customized partnership in the application process. Looking back on my MBA application journey, I can say with certainty that the best decision I made was to hire Personal MBA Coach. I was by no means an easy client. My testing saga ended up taking much longer than expected, and because of this, I ended up working with Scott and team through R1 and R2. They never complained. While other firms I initially reached out to would not provide the flexibility for me to start working with them while still working through the testing, Scott had no problem with it. He also promised that I would have direct access to him, instead of someone who worked for him, like many of the other firms had arranged. After finally getting a strong test score under my belt, I was left with about a month to complete all of my applications. While Scott and team typically recommend and request that the essays be near completion at this stage, they worked through each draft with me up until the final deadlines. There were countless drafts and emails exchanged between us. They answered every nitpicky question that I had in a timely fashion, even during the holidays. When it came time to interview, Scott set me up with his interviewing experts, who thoroughly prepared me for each interview. I ended up getting into every single school that I applied to with many full rides, and am now in the position to choose between Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. Scott’s expertise, dedication, transparency, and most importantly, patience, allowed for my lofty goals to become a reality. As I was searching for a consultant, I was given an important piece of advice, while consultants can be expensive, so is business school. This decision can make all the difference in the long run. I would recommend Scott and his amazing team to anyone in search of a consultant. I speak with conviction when I say that you won’t regret hiring Personal MBA Coach. Best of luck!

TL:DR – Scott is great, you can definitely choose him
Detailed Feedback: I am a female candidate from India, with a GMAT score of 750. I had wanted to get into one of either Harvard, Stanford or Wharton. I had researched multiple consultants and spoke with many people before choosing to work with Scott. One of the key reasons I chose Scott was the fact that he individually had a great track record and that I get to directly work with him, unlike other firms who had multiple consultants and there was the ambiguity of whether I would get a good consultant to work with.
Scott has great clarity on how to approach the application for each of the schools and also offers great flexibility in the entire process. For example, I had chosen the 6 school package with Scott, but hadn’t chosen the actual schools to apply. I suddenly decided I wanted to apply to CBS within one week of the deadline for R1 to improve my chances, and Scott was completely understanding and helped me put together a great application within that short timeline and I got an admit as well!
Scott had a different style of working to what I was used to – after our initial analysis call, the entire communication was over email. Given that he personally works with all of his clients, this time crunch is to be expected. Once I got used to working this way, I was able to work well with him and complete all the applications to my satisfaction. Scott makes the entire process simple and easy to tackle, that helped me apply to 6 schools in a satisfactory manner with time to spare (some other consultants I spoke with said the process is so complicated I can at max apply to 4 schools). The ability to apply to more schools reduced my risk of not getting admitted anywhere, and hence reduced the pressure on the entire process. Scott is very responsive and ensures he gets back for all communication within 2 days, even during weekends and holidays.
Scott’s clear approach uniquely tailored to each school helped me get into LBS, CBS and Wharton. Though I would have loved if I had cracked Harvard and Stanford as well, I wouldn’t have had the success I have without Scott’s guidance.

Trying to find an ideal MBA coach is a tricky partnership. You need to find someone who is honest, understandable and is able to work with you to be creative as possible. I had interviewed a few coaches and instantly felt the connection with Scott. As I made a decision to apply very late into the year and was very close to deadlines, Scott was very specific on the schools that I can potentially get into to. As I had a very interesting background, I had gone ahead and wrote my life history – which gave him insight to really dive deep to see what I wanted. He then helped in being more specific with my background, overall achievements and fine tuned things that were needed to make me a great candidate for these programs. I got tutoring for my EA exam as well as interview coaching. I ended up getting into my dream school!!!

During the early stages of my search, I spoke with several consultants who worked for and promised the resources of a large organization. However, on my call with Scott, he promised me that he would personally review every aspect of my application – from the conversation about picking schools to getting the admit call – and he absolutely did!
Writing essays with Scott was incredible easy – he challenged me to find my motivations and the right personal stories to demonstrate them. He had significant knowledge on what each school was looking for and helped guide my writing accordingly. Although Scott will not write your essays for you, he will push you by asking the right questions and make the writing process much more genuine and engaging.
I was eventually admitted to 3 M7 schools and 1 T15 (half-ride) with a mediocre GPA, which speaks volumes about Scott’s methods. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a more personal touch from the owner of the consulting firm directly.

Yes it’s possible to work on your applications yourself and to just ask your friends and family to help edit your essays but why not set yourself up for the best chance by hiring a professional admissions consultant who will help guide you through the entire process?
Like most, I was initially hesitant about hiring a consultant. But after my first introductory call with Scott, I knew I had to work with him. Having been out of school for ~4 years, I was a little rusty with my writing but Scott continued to push me and I was able to write compelling essays for my applications. I also really appreciated the quick turnaround between all of the edits. The mock interviews that Scott helps set up with former MBA interviewers were also extremely helpful and helped me be more confident for my actual interviews.
Out of the 5 schools I applied to, I’ve been accepted into 1 with a decently sized scholarship, waitlisted at another, and I’m waiting to hear back from 2. Scott’s patience is also evident – he took the time to address all of my questions/insecurities and made me feel more confident in my chances in the M7. Since we talked in the spring, he also advised me on ways to strengthen my resume by the R1 deadlines. Most of all, it was obvious that Scott cared about my application and is passionate about the ins and outs of the admissions process, which is the most I could have asked for out of anyone I’m working with. Varun – :
The short version: Researched multiple consultants. Chose Scott over all others. Got into Wharton, Columbia, and Ross despite tremendous odds.
The long one: Since I was an Indian (read: one of the largest demographics) male (the most competitive gender) engineer (the hardest degree type to distinguish yourself in, especially when you are Indian), who was also a re-applicant with 8 years of experience, I knew it was going to be very hard to get into my dream school.
I contacted 10+ consultants and spoke to them at length to understand how they operate. Given my background, I knew that I would need someone who will understand my story properly and help me craft a unique story. After talking to a few of the major consulting firms, I realized that I needed a boutique consultant where I could deal with my consultant directly. Amongst all the boutique consultants I spoke with, I had the best connection with Scott. I liked his calm demeanor, the fact that he seemed to know the colleges well, and most importantly that he had worked with many Indians before and knew how to help them.
I realized his value while working with him on my first application itself. After we figured out my story, we exchanged a lot of drafts on bringing out the ‘why’. Scott adds detailed notes in each draft and he always responds within 48 hours. The final essays were really really good, even if I say so myself. They made so much sense and compared to the essays I had written myself during the previous application cycle, these were crystal clear. There was a perfect balance – the essays logically and clearly told the adcom what I wanted to do while bringing out the emotional angle to support why I wanted to do it. Moreover, the last aspect which is so important – the interview prep – is the best part about working with him. My mock interviews were super important in making sure that I do well on the day! In fact without them I am confident I would not have been nearly as good.
Lastly, if there is one thing I can say that would convince you of how good Scott is, it is this – When I took the 5 school package with him, I followed his instructions precisely for 3 schools and went with my gut for the other 2. It just so happens that I got into all the 3 where I listened to him and got rejected from the other 2. Now, I could put that down as a remarkable co-incidence but after working with him over 9 months, I am inclined to believe that Scott knows what he is talking about.
I truly believe that he is the reason I am going to Wharton and I recommend if you are looking for a consultant, look no further than Scott.

It was a crazy ride from start to finish applying for top MBA programs. It wouldn’t have been possible without Scott’s assistance. Coming from an engineering background, both undergraduate and career wise, I did not know anyone who went to a full time MBA program let alone a top MBA program. I thought I could handle the process my myself with assistance from friends and family. I soon realized I was in over my head. This caused me to regroup and postpone applying to schools for a year while I found an expert to assist me. I heavily researched lots of different admission consultants including having an initial screening with a handful.
Ultimately, I was looking for a consultant who had a few key qualities: success getting students admitted at the top schools, someone who was as invested in the process as me, and someone who would give me the truth without sugar coating it. Scott checked all these boxes. I felt better knowing that I was working with the owner of the consultant company, which isn’t true of some of the bigger consultant companies. This was a big reason why I chose Scott. I was concerned at other admission consultant companies that I would be pawned off to a low-level consultant without much experience.
The entire process was still stressful, but Scott helped me successfully get accepted to 2 top 7 programs and waitlisted at a 3rd. He was great to work with. We started by creating a schedule with milestones to hit as well as an initial brainstorming session. I also already knew what schools I was going to apply to, but he would assist with school selections. We only talked on the phone a few times but that was fine for me. We mostly communicated through email. His response time for emails or questions was normally within a day and around two days for essay revisions. For the most part he was blunt in his responses and opinions. I enjoyed this as I would rather have the truth. This may not work as well for some people who need more emotional support during the process. He also pushed me in my essay writing abilities. As an engineer this was a weak spot for me and he provided a great deal of value with editing abilities.
Overall working with him was a great experience and I would definitely recommend him to others. As the owner of the company I felt that he was as invested in me getting into at least 1 of my target programs as I was. However, a lot of the work is still placed on the applicant and a consultant is only there to assist.

Working with Scott was the best decision I made in the arduous application process. He was HIGHLY responsive to any questions or concerns I had during this stressful time. My only regret is not doing the 5 school package (I chose the 3 school). Scott really knows how to present your story in the best way possible to maximize your chances of admission and scholarship. If you’re serious about MBA, get started with him sooner rather than later!! Scott is more than just a consultant, he is a mentor and life coach!

I reached out to Scott while I was doing my research on various admission consultants, and after the first call with Scott, I knew he was the right consultant for me. Throughout the duration of our association, he has been available through a call / email etc especially when it is a time sensitive issue. We took a lot of time to decide on the target schools based on my application as I wanted to apply to a lot of them, but then he helped me streamline my thought process. His approach in helping me build my story was phenomenal as he was gave me ideas to ponder over instead of just enforcing me to use one strategy. This definitely helped me clarify the career trajectory for the application and in general as well. With his support, I got interviews almost in all the schools I applied, and have gained an admit from one of them. Still awaiting to hear from 2 top schools. I would definitely recommend him.

I would highly recommend Scott and the Personal MBA Coach to anyone interested in getting accepted into a top MBA program. Scott is patient, organized, attentive, and an excellent coach through the entire process. Together, we laid out a strategy (which included guidance on the resume, essays, interviews and other crucial factors) that eventually led to a series of well-rounded applications that demonstrated my appeal as an MBA prospect to the adcom. But instead of trying to mold my application into a predictable form, we worked together to create an application that was authentic.

I am a first year MBA Candidate at Columbia Business School and I have Scott Edinburgh to thank for it!
It was a long, yet incredibly transformative journey to business school and I can certainly say that I would not have been able to do it without the help of Scott. Being there every step of the way, Scott will help you craft a strategy that helps present your best self in your B-School applications. He dives deep and curates your brand, your story, your resume, your letters of recommendation requests, and your essays line by line, going through as many iterations as you need to be confident in what you are submitting to admissions.
When it comes time to interview, Scott will strengthen your interviewing skills by helping you identify and refine your behavioral stories, administering 1-on-1 mock interview sessions, and giving feedback on your video interview samples. All of this mentally trains and prepares you for when you finally come face to face with the business school interviewers.
Why did I pick Scott? I interviewed ~10 different MBA coaches before finalizing Scott and the reason was simple: Scott really cares about you and is truly vested in your success. And this became increasingly evident as Scott fielded countless questions and emails from me and VERY PATIENTLY supported me through all the stressful “freak outs” and breakdowns. The MBA application process is tough, arduous process. Scott Edinburgh is someone who can help alleviate a lot of that pressure and set you up for true success!

Your MBA Application & School Advice:
Plan your work, work your plan - stay on top of things. This is a long, arduous process and things can get messy if you are not organized. Dive deep and introspect on your accomplishments. Most importantly, understand why you want to go to Business School and make sure that what you are expecting is feasible.

When I first applied to business school in 2016, I was rejected by six of the M7 schools. With Scott’s guidance in 2018, I was able to secure acceptances from Kellogg, Booth and Sloan and was offered a combined $170K in scholarship money from Kellogg and Booth.
I started the process with Scott after meeting him in late July 2018 after the MBA Tour and listening to his talk about the 10 things that one must do to prepare for applications. He seemed very knowledgeable and mentioned his connections with admissions offices, all while offering insights that I would never find online. I immediately signed up with him and am so glad that I did.
Scott took the time to thoroughly understand my background before laying out our plan of attack. Scott’s guidance made me feel very assured and confident in myself throughout the process. He steered me in the right direction on how to prioritize apps and plan out my essays for each school, recommending that I focus on particular topics that would resonate with admissions based on my background and what he knew they would look for. We developed such great chemistry that we would be emailing each other practically every other day for the next two months. We scheduled phone calls to strategize our attack for each school’s application. He’s also been available at a moment’s notice for me to call him with more pressing matters, such as how I should rationalize the factors that went into my decision of deciding the business school this fall. This encapsulates what I have truly enjoyed most about working with Scott — he is candid in his feedback, available at at a moment’s notice, and provides great perspective on the admissions process given his history working with other clients.
If you are considering the investment, I would highly encourage you to sign up with Scott. Working with the founder of a top consulting firm is a huge plus, and I think it would give you the confidence that you’d need to secure placements at top MBA programs.

DO SOME SERIOUS SELF REFLECTION BEFORE CHOOSING WHETHER YOU'LL GO FOR AN MBA. IF YOU DO, I'D RECOMMEND GOING WITH SCOTT TO GET THE PERSONALIZED ATTENTION THAT YOU'LL NEED TO PERFORM AT YOUR BEST THROUGHOUT THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

Scott was great to work with and always responded within 48 hours. After calling several consulting firms for their free consultation, I found that Scott was the most straightforward and provided the most honest feedback. He did not try to up-sell me his services when I indicated that I only wanted to apply to two schools. He indicated that my odds were not the greatest upfront and did not pressure me to use his services, unlike some of the big firms that referred me to their outside/lesser known partners. I ultimately accepted early decision at one school and declined my interview at the other.
Throughout the application process, Scott kept his promise on providing comments or feedback within 48 hours. I was able to get quicker responses/live phone calls within 24 hours, when necessary. Given that Scott appears to have many touch points with various adcoms throughout the year, he was able to provide very insightful essay comments and help craft stories that work best/better for specific schools. In addition, interview prep was extremely helpful because he was able to connect me with a prior ambassador.
I highly recommend Personal MBA Coach for your MBA application process, especially for applicants who value honest feedback.

The Personal MBA Coach Team has been instrumental in my MBA admissions journey. They truly made it possible for me to achieve my long term dream of getting admitted to a top business school.
The team’s thorough knowledge of the entire application process and guidance on how best to position myself along with various nuances related to each school, The Personal MBA Coach really customized and supported me extensively throughout the MBA process.
I am a non-traditional MBA candidate, with a PhD and a little older than traditional applications that was discouraged by other MBA coaching and advisory services in terms of my aspirations of getting admitted to a full time program. But once I spoke with the The Personal MBA Coach, he provided a lot of support, and helped me build confidence to peruse the effort and defined clearly a working strategy for me specifically.
He and his team are thorough, diligent, pragmatic and realistic. With my profile he was v ery honest about what I need to work on to get to my target and how to go about it.
Unlike other MBA admissions advisory services, The Personal MBA Coach is truly personal and goes the extra mile to provide best in class service, advisory and support through out the process of MBA admissions. They are available and ready to answer any question and very flexible in terms of scheduling.
Scott has a deep understanding of each school and what is needed for them to tailor the application in the best way. Through out the process of working with Scott and the Personal MBA Coach team, I not only got admitted into the Full Time MBA program – at the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business, but also developed key insights about myself, becoming a better writer, interviewee and strategic thinker.
My sincerest thanks to the Personal MBA Coach and team and I strongly recommend working with this team if one truly wants to achieve their MBA goals and dreams.

Scott was absolutely incredible to work with!
At first, I was debating going through the admissions process without an admissions consultant, but in hindsight, I’m so glad I decided to go with Scott. He is very experienced and knowledgeable about the process, is extremely responsive (e.g. essay revisions turned around within 24 hours), and I can tell he gives his 100% effort to each of his clients. I also appreciate that Scott gives it to you as is – he isn’t one to sugarcoat and will give you the feedback you need to hear.
I’m happy to say I will be attending my top choice (Wharton) this fall, and I can’t thank Scott enough for getting us here. I felt well-prepared throughout the whole process (including no surprises during interviews!), and I highly recommend Scott to other prospective applicants!

Scott worked with me for nearly nine-months as I navigated the arduous MBA application process. He and his team helped with everything from school selection, to essay review, interview prep and post-acceptance decision making.
From the very beginning, Scott got down to brass tacks. He helped me understand the best way to package my profile and frame my story. He additionally provided valuable insight into the specifics of what each program’s admissions committees are looking for, which helped me to tailor my applications to their expectations.
As a partner throughout this process, Scott was a professional in every sense; he was attentive, honest, and discerning. The overall experience was top-rate. With Scott’s help, I was ultimately accepted into several top MBA programs with substantial scholarship money. I absolutely recommend his services to anyone who’s serious about submitting a strong application.

I have a bit of an unconventional background, so I knew from the beginning that I wanted to work with someone who is dedicated and who really looks into my background to help me put my best foot forward. After some initial research and scoping calls with a shortlist of admissions consultants, it was a no-brainer to decide to work with Scott, because he really listened to what I had in mind and challenged me where appropriate. He was patient, friendly, yet super straightforward and critical. It was really pleasant working with Scott; I followed on with additional interview prep services. Got into Yale and MIT Sloan

I started working with Scott Edinburgh the fall after graduating college. I wanted to take a year off to prepare and apply to graduate programs but without a career center at my disposal, I had no idea where to begin. After reading reviews on the Personal MBA Coach website, I decided to reach out to Scott for more information. Hearing the realities from Scott about my reach schools following our conversation was daunting but he assured me that we would work together for the best outcome. I knew right then that working with Scott was my best shot at getting into my dream school.
I never worked in person with Scott, I was living in New York City during our time together but he was available to me 24/7. He helped me build my story and was patient with me through the essay editing process. Even when I thought my essay was finished, Scott pushed me to make it better. All of my emails were answered almost immediately and he even offered to travel to New York to work with me in person. Scott put me in touch with an incredible GRE tutor who improved my test score by almost 20 points!
I was accepted into all three of my 3 stretch schools, including yes, the dream school. I was even offered a substantial scholarship to Boston University. Not only was Scott available to me through every step of the application process but he helped me confidently choose the right program, which can be just as stressful. Working with Scott was the best decision I have ever made. I can truly say that without him and his diligent work I would not be where I am today, studying Public Relations and Corporate Communication at New York University.

at first i chose an mba consulting firm that charged thousands and the woman running that firm barely called me back or listened to my concerns (this was the so-called leading firm on google). so i searched for another firm and came upon scott. scott designs his services to meet your exact needs. he doesn’t charge for services you don’t need – he is flexible to help with any or all aspects of your application. if you just need to strategize with him or you need editing or interview prep, whatever it is he can help you and is so accommodating and flexible with scheduling. obviously the most important thing with mba applications is depicting a full/comprehensive picture of the candidate and scott masterfully pulled so many aspects of my life together to create a strong application that was successful.

Admissions consultants are not cheap – they’re a big investment. Like many people, I did a bunch of free consultations with “big name” firms. Many of them sounded great, but it was impossible to know who exactly I would actually be working with and what their track record for success had been in the past. I wanted someone whom I could speak with and evaluate before I shelled out thousands of dollars. I decided to work with Scott, and it was the best decision I made throughout the entire process.
Scott is everything he advertises: timely, responsive, honest, incredibly hardworking, thoughtful, and efficient. When he says he’ll get you edits in 48 hours, he means it. He’s also almost always on call despite his hectic schedule. I sent him countless emails with quick random questions, and he almost always responded within an hour or two. He worked with my schedule and accommodated calls whenever I asked.
Scott was an enormous asset throughout the entire process. He helped me affirm my school selections, think through my career goals, evaluate and play to my strengths, hide my weaknesses, select my recommenders, and truly match my resume to the interests of my top schools. I consider myself a pretty good writer, but Scott tore my essays up regularly. He made them much, much better every time, without compromising what I wanted to say. He also works incredibly hard to build relationships at the top schools, which gives him amazing insight into what they look for and how to prioritize time on the applications.
With Scott’s help, I got into my top choice, Northwestern-Kellogg. Without a doubt, Scott was a big reason why. Money well spent.

When doing my initial search for an admissions consultant, I was first drawn to the big-name consulting companies. Yet, after doing more research I realized that I did not merely want to be another faceless customer at one of these big firms. I knew that I needed the personalized support that Scott @ Personal MBA Coach provides in order to get through the application process in one piece. The whole application process, from b-school research to essay writing, is intensive, time-consuming, and stressful. I highly recommend Scott as the person ripe for the job to get you through it—with success. Truth be told, Scott gets into the minutiae of the entire application, including the 50 character explanations for my ECs in your undergraduate studies. From countless essay edits to much-needed mock interviews, Scott was there for me at every step. Scott’s one-on-one support is exactly what I needed to conquer this arduous process and engineer an admission to my dream school of Columbia.

Start your research months in advance of actually turning your application in. If you need help, get it. When you think of the cost of an admissions consultant versus the total cost of business school, it's entirely worth it. The future dividends of attending a top business school far outweigh the extra cost.

Scott Edinburgh from Personal MBA Coach is exactly what I was looking for in a business school application consultant!! He has years of experience and is knowledgeable about everything in the application cycle from the GMAT to interviews. He was committed to making me a top applicant and meticulous in all of his work on my resume and essays. He is extremely honest with his feedback and pushed me to make every aspect of my application the best that it could be- and now I am going to my dream school next fall! I worked directly with Scott so he was very familiar with every aspect of my application- definitely not the case at big firms where junior resources end up doing much of the work. He also made it a priority to work around my schedule, both for the application and interview prep. I plan to recommend him to all of my friends applying to business school!
