    :

Anthony was an awesome tutor. I came in with high school-level math (at best) and needed some serious help as a poor test taker. By the time I finished testing I couldn’t believe how automatic and systematic things became, and that is all thanks to Anthony’s approach. He didn’t just drill practice problems, he helped me build my foundation and equipped me with the tools I needed to succeed in the test. I also found myself laughing out loud during our sessions – he made it fun, even when I made the same mistakes over and over. He was incredibly supportive and encouraging, and also empathetic when things weren’t going as well as I had hoped. In those moments, he helped me reevaluate how I was studying on my own and helped me adjust accordingly. He also has such in-depth knowledge of the tests and types of questions – he is really unmatched in that sense. My advice- plan ahead! It takes time, but Anthony will be there with you every step of the way.

I highly recommend Anthony Ritz for tutoring. He’s an outstanding tutor, adept at tailoring his teaching to individual learning styles, teaching in a way that makes sense to you. His knowledge of the GRE and GMAT is incredibly deep – he knows the strategies and what the test makers are thinking when they craft questions. What sets him apart from many tutors is his approach: instead of relying solely on practice problems, Anthony has created powerpoint lessons for each topic and actually teaches versus just reviewing “homework”.

It’s crucial to note Anthony’s character. He is a fantastic person, and his humor, kindness, and genuine nature make the tutoring sessions enjoyable. He’s always patient, even when answering rudimentary questions.

If you’re looking for a tutor who combines expertise in test content and strategies with a fun and kind approach, Anthony is the perfect choice. His deep understanding of these tests and his ability to teach them effectively makes him an excellent tutor. Thank you for everything, Anthony.

Anthony is an absolute Rockstar. He is incredibly intelligent, but also incredibly humble. He roots for his students to do well. Even when I did not do the homework, he never forgets that he is there for you. Thank you Anthony.

Anthony was very honest, direct, and funny. He is clearly a subject matter expert when it comes to understanding how to attack the test. On top of his intelligence and expertise, Anthony genuinely cares about his students and helping them succeed. I have already recommended one friend to him and would for anyone who asks!

    :

I highly recommend Anthony’s teaching methodology. For quant, Anthony taught me how to take complex problems and break them down into simpler components to be able to solve them within the time limits. For verbal, he has great techniques for reading comp and critical reasoning that were incredibly helpful on test day to maintain solid pacing. He’s a fantastic teacher and always found ways to make the material interesting, which, when the subject is the GMAT, isn’t the easiest thing to do. If you want to jump to the next level, Anthony is your guy.

I highly, highly recommend Anthony as a tutor for your GMAT studies. I will explain why: I started off my GMAT studies in September 2013. I took a six week course and practiced myself an additional two weeks, ending up with a 600. At that point, being a bit discouraged yet also realizing I need more than one year of work experience before my MBA, I paused my studies and waited until September 2015 to start up again. I decided to self study again, which took me about four months, and ended up with a 650. I had one month to study again until I had to retake the exam for third time. That was when I contacted Anthony to come tutor me. Anthony is not like other tutors that I’ve had in the past; he really knows how to challenge you to figure out the problems on your own before he steps in to help. When he does help, he doesn’t just show you the problem and tell you to repeat those steps on the rest of the problems. He usually starts off by asking you if you have heard of a certain theorem or proof or something of that nature that is related to this specific problem. When he explains it to you, a million light bulbs will go off in your head. From that point on you will have much less difficulty tackling that type of problem. It was mind blowing for me that with one quick explanation he was able to show me how to do a specific type of problem at any difficulty level, even 700 and above. He showed me that the quantitative section really is not that hard when you realize that all the questions are quite similar but are the same question just written down differently. Because of his tutoring, I was able to raise my quant score from a 38 to a 50 (in practice exams; got 49 on my final GMAT official exam). Similarly on the verbal section, he helped me raise my score from a 27 to a 41. This allowed me to get an overall score of 740, way better than the 650 I was able to achieve via self studying. I attribute 95% of my score increase to the lessons that Anthony taught me. Without him, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to break the 700 barrier. The money I spent to tutor with him was one of the best spent dollars for my future, bar none. Thank you Anthony for all your help. I really owe you one.

    :

I came into my GMAT preparation with little to no experience. I had been recommended to Anthony through a friend. At first I was intimidated by his knowledge of the GMAT and was unsure if I would be able to be brought up to speed. But he is a persistent teacher and takes immense pride when his students succeed. I would strongly recommend Anthony. I also wanted to note that I took this while still being enrolled in undergrad, and would strongly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.

    :

Tough but fair teaching style with the encouragement you need to be able to lift your abilities and change your thinking. Anthony did a great job at recalibrating my thought processes and approach to GMAT problems. He was also incredibly accommodating to my dynamic work schedule and went above and beyond to make sure I was learning as much as I could be. He also provided a wealth of detailed notes, example problems, and practical advice to help me prepare. Unexpectedly, I was given early admission to one of my top graduate school choices, so I only took the GMAT twice and didn’t see much improvement, as I had only just rewired my problem solving approach and had not yet had the time to refine it. However, if you want a tutor that will push you to do your best, and help you dive into every detail of your problem solving process, Anthony is excellent.

I had previously taken the GMAT two years ago after self studying and scored a 730 (Q47 V42). This past fall, I finally got the itch to retake the exam and after careful consideration I decided to hire Anthony. I could not have made a better decision. Anthony was fantastic. It was clear from the beginning that he was incredibly intelligent and deeply understood the concepts underlying the GMAT. However, as you know, just because someone understands the material very well doesn’t mean they will necessarily teach it well. This is certainly not true for Anthony. His deep understanding of the concepts and years of experience coaching students of all levels allowed him to be incredibly effective at illuminating these concepts. This was effective both for students reviewing the GMAT for the first time, and for student like myself who had previously reviewed but wanted to go deeper and unlock high scores. Anthony was willing, if not even excited, to provide insight into what he thought I needed to reach my potential by both explaining concepts and providing advice that was tailored to me specifically (maintaining confidence, addressing weak areas, timing, etc.) His advice provided me the confidence to show up on test day and completely knock the test out of the park with a 770 score (Q49 V47 IR8 AWA6). I couldn’t have done it without him!

    :

I VERY highly recommend Anthony. I decided to pursue business school relatively late in the game for the 2021 admissions cycle, and signed up to work with Anthony, with less than 3 months from my first ever GMAT practice test to the official exam day. The passion for teaching that Anthony brought, combined with the absolute mastery of the material he has gained from 10+ years of dedicated tutoring was unparalleled from day one. I managed to score a 770 (Q50, V47) on the GMAT, more than a 100 point increase from my first practice test. If you are looking to get a solid understanding of GMAT concepts and learn how to ace the GMAT, there is no better tutor than Anthony.

    :

Anthony is an amazing GMAT professor. He is able to effectively communicate the core competencies and strategies required to handle all problem styles. More importantly, he made studying for the GMAT actually fun. Even though my greatest hurdle in preparing for the GMAT was mental (i.e. dealing with stress), he never looked down on me or frowned upon my performance. I scheduled roughly 6-8 hours of outside tutoring time with Anthony to improve my verbal score, particularly focusing on sentence correction. Anthony made sure every minute of private tutoring was used for my benefit. Studying for the GMAT is stressful, but I am forever thankful that Anthony was there for even when I wanted to give up on myself.

    :

Anthony was a fantastic instructor. Somehow he managed to hold my attention, relaying tons of strategies and techniques for answering GMAT questions. He truly cares about every student and is endlessly patient. I actually started to look forward to it, after one or two sessions. He was also non-judgmental, which was important to me, since my practice test score was pretty low – particularly in the quantitative section. Instead of dismissing my needs, he seemed to be more patient and spend more time on quantitative material. I could not have asked for a better tutor. Results: I improved my score by 70 points and received perfect scores on the verbal and essay portions of the GMAT.

Anthony is very funny and engaging.. I took the test two weeks after and increased my GMAT score by 170 points since the last time I took the test in May. Thanks!

    :

First things first, Anthony really knows his stuff. He was able to give me detailed reasonings for every question I had for him, regardless of the topic. Most GMAT tutors obviously know the GMAT at an extremely high level, but what really sets Anthony apart is how much he cares and his availability. Studying for the GMAT is a journey, and there is no one you’d rather have in your corner through that journey than Anthony. He was available via text, call or email regardless of the time (I had to get in touch early in the morning and late at night and he answered extremely quickly), and always was willing to give me the advice I needed to hear. Ultimately, if you’re studying for the GMAT, you gotta go with Anthony!

Anthony was a huge factor in helping to improve my score to 750. His excellent in-depth lessons helped me understand that there were points on the table in the Verbal section and how I improve my score there (previously I’d focused exclusively on the Quant section). Wonderful, enthusiastic and interesting teacher ❤️!

I ended up improving 110 points from my diagnostic test and scoring in the 99th percentile, and I am certain that I could not have made the same improvement self-studying. Anthony did an amazing job of teaching specific test-taking strategies that tangibly improved my performance on certain question types, and he managed to do it in as engaging of a manner as possible! I highly recommend Anthony, especially if you are like me and need the discipline and strict timeline of a tutor to keep you on track – my total study time was only seven weeks and I can now focus on applications for the rest of the spring.

    :

Anthony is a master at simplifying complex strategies to help students attack all sections of the GMAT. Two specific areas that I struggled with were Sentence Correction and Data Sufficiency. Never would I have expected SC questions to become my strongest area in Verbal, or to be happy to see DS questions in Quant….but by the end of the tutoring that was my reality. Anthony goes above and beyond, and is willing to email with you, get on the phone to discuss areas you are struggling with, and provide constructive advice for where and how to focus your limited time. I can’t say enough about Anthony as a tutor.

Had a great experience w/ Anthony and ended up gaining more than 100 points on my score. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and was well worth the time and effort. I started struggling with the quantitative section, but was able to make up significant ground while also gaining in the qualitative score. Anthony put me in a good position to succeed, and I ended up doing better on the test than expected as a result of its methods.

Anthony was amazing. He is an incredible instructor and I think that he truly cared about my improvement. My first two GMAT scores were 660 and 680. I was really hoping to get over 700 so I decided to take tutoring with Anthony. I recently took the GMAT and achieved a 710 and I truly believe it of Anthony. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He does a great job explaining concepts in multiple ways so that I can understand difficult problems.

Anthony was fantastic. He does very well with mathematics and particularly bringing in outside knowledge in an easy to grasp storytelling format to drill down on a point or method. One of Anthony’s strongest features is how much he cares and delivering value. His email-response time is fantastic.

Anthony was Amazing. Demand him. He is the perfect mix between nerdy and social. He is smart enough to answer any question but a great teacher who can tell nerdy jokes. I loved working with him, because he was willing to answer any questions. I would highly recommend Anthony, and that is the only reason I’m writing this review.

I took the GMAT after self-studying in March and got a 640. After working with Anthony, I scored a 730 (well above my goal of at least 700). To me, the GMAT is all about knowing the tricks and strategies to take the test the right way. After making sure I had a strong foundation in each of the subjects the test covered, Anthony provided me with advanced strategies that are crucial to scoring 700+ and make the test a lot easier to take. It was clear that Anthony’s top priority was my success. 100% recommend.

Anthony was a fantastic teacher – very sharp and genuinely friendly. He kept sessions entertaining and fast-paced with his quirky sense of humor, and he provided me with a tailored study plan since this was my second rodeo. I was able to pick up new strategies from Anthony, and I bumped my score up to 720 on my second attempt. The effort and investment certainly paid off – I’m starting at UCLA Anderson in a week. I would 100% recommend to everyone.

    :

The first time I took the GMAT I did not prepare well. Anthony was great at helping me go from a below average SC tester to above average and helped me get the advanced CR questions. In addition to the Verbal section he helped me with the Quantitative Section significantly explaining the most complex subjects in way that got me to understand them easily. He went above and beyond when I was having issues understanding various topics, had the patience when I was struggling with the most basic SC, and helped me develop a “winning” GMAT mentality for the exam. To anyone needing a tutor I would highly and I mean highly recommend Anthony. Pleasure to work with and extremely knowledgeable.
